World Day of Prayer will be celebrated in more than 170 countries and regions around the world on Friday, March 6, 2015. This year, the women of the WDP Committee of The Bahamas call us to consider Jesus’ words to the disciples after washing their feet: “Do you understand what I have done for you?” The women of The Bahamas describe what Jesus does when he washes the disciples’ feet as “radical love.” Radical love comes from humility, compassion and commitment. God’s radical love is not static or self-centered; it reaches out and draws others in.
This year service will be held at First Lutheran Church, Fellowship Hall, 604 West Broadway Street, Decorah on Friday March 6, 2015 beginning with coffee at 9:00 a.m. It will be followed by prayers, hymns, a Bible reading and meditation on John 13:1-17, and an offering which will help meet the needs of families in the Bahamas and around the world who are victims of many forms of poverty, violence and injustice.
All are welcome. Please join us.
